I am so happy to have convened in 1979 the first UN conference on climatic changes. I was criticized at the time for raising a problem which was not real.
Well, by the year 2000, it became a reality, vastly discussed in the world, especially due to the fact that so many people died as a result of unprecedented heat periods during the summer in several countries. Was it necessary to come to that for governments to wake up? Why did we lose 20 years?
