The UN oath of service:
"I solemnly swear to exercise in all loyalty, discretion and conscience
the functions entrusted to me as an international civil servant. of the United Nations,
to discharge these functions and regulate my conduct with the interest of the United Nations only in view, and
not seek or accept instructions in regard to the performance of my duties
from any Government or other authority external to the Organization."

In my view, there is not a single person on Earth who has the qualities required of a Secretary General of the United Nations, There are schools for everything on this planet except for world servants and heads of states. Yet, the UN must become the most noble world association of virtuous men and women ever seen on this planet.

On the occasion of the fortieth anniversary of the UN, 700 staff members donated over $100,000.00 for help to the needy countries.

We humans should eliminate from our lives and actions on planet Earth many stupidities and wrongnesses, many of them inherited from a dead or dying past.

On the other hand we should welcome, support and expand new life actions which preserve, save and even make of our planet Earth a paradise, the most unique, advanced body of evolution in our solar system and perhaps in the universe.

I recommend that two new world agencies be created to deal with the preceeding.

The UN budget, considered excessive by the western countries, could be easily reduced if there were not the high costs of cities like New York, Geneva and Paris. Someone should calculate the savings which could be made by transferring some world agencies to low-cost countries,

I don't have the words to express how much I appreciate your regular "Good Morning World" and Robert's other works and the example of his life. Thank you.

I have learned that there was a United Nations Colloquium on Thomas Paine in 1987 and you were a major participant. Do you have a transcript of that meeting or can you tell me where I can find one?

If proceedings of the presentations of all the speakers have been published, I can't find those proceedings. One of our members has some audiotapes, though, and if no publication can be found, I would be willing to transcribe the tapes. I'd like to exhaust all possibilities before going through that process, though.

Anything you could tell me would be appreciated. Thanks so much.

I am with a fairly new organization, Thomas Paine Friends, and we are wanting to plan a celebration for Paine's 200th anniversary in 2009. My friends tell me that your event was one of the best tributes ever done. Any help you could provide would be greatly welcomed.

We must achieve peace everywhere, from local peace to world peace and switch our attention and efforts on totally new problems and challenges such as overpopulation, the environment, The air, water, climatic changes, etc. There should be no room left whatsoever for wars, conflicts and violence. They are outmoded, things of the past. Our further evolution and progress require it.

In 1970, during the twenty-fifth anniversary of the UN, the Republican administration of the US wanted to reduce its contribution to the UN budget from 33 percent to 25 percent. SecretaryGeneral U Thant proposed to Ambassador George Bush that the US contribution be reduced to 15%, but the US refused, arguing that it would lose too much influence in the UN.
An added reason was probably also that with such a low percentage the US would lose the opportunity to complain and to exercise pressure on political issues by refusing to pay. The latter is a beloved technique of the big powers, an additional veto.

Please help me fulfill my dream: that each year in September on International Day of Peace, when the UN General Assembly opens with a minute of prayer or meditation, all peoples of the Earth will pray with their delegates for the advent of peace, justice and happiness on our beautiful planet.

All the temples to God would ring their bells, their gongs, their cymbals, their chofars and sing the world song ?Let There Be Peace on Earth and Let it Begin with Me.?

It would be good to publish statistics on what national health departments spend and what the World Health Organization spends, and to do the same for all UN agencies and world programs. The results would be staggering. They would reveal how little is being done for the planet and for humanity, and how much for its subdivisions and subordinate entities. Politicians should have sleepless nights. No wonder that the world is in such a mess. We are the most distorted and misguided budgeted planet in the universe.

I Love Happiness

We were signing Most of All They Taught ME Happiness books in the new RAIN Cybernet Cafe in Solvang CA yesterday afternoon when two ladies came in looking for the coffee shop next door and I said, "since you are here, what do you want to learn about computers?" Catherine, the daughter started talking to Sylvia and Timothy Tyndall and I took her 94 year old mother to meet Robert Muller and mentioned he was in the United Nations.

Immediately she replied, "I just finished a book on Happiness by a former United Nations author, I love happiness."

"Was it Most of All They Taught ME Happiness and if so come meet the author" ..She got so excited, she almost dropped her cane and at 94 one must be a little cautious, but she just couldn't believe it, couldn't stop her excitement and practically ran to Robert...

She had read a copy of this book from 1978 and reads it all the time and when I asked her why she replied "I believe in Happiness"..Robert and she hugged and laughed and held hands for 5 minutes while looking at both the new edition of Happiness and the photographs in Prophet, the Hatmakers Son, his biography by Douglas Gillies.

We will soon be visiting Laura in her home as her copy is one of the rare unsigned copies and Robert will sign it with pleasure.

So does happiness help one age with grace and live longer? Research says YES and here's Laura at 94 and still going happily along and feeling strong..and she believes in happiness and even reads about it..So the answer is YES!! We'll all be getting alot older and as Robert said after she left, "I'm only 83 and Laura is a good example for me to follow."

As this little story proves once again..There are no accidents just great occasions for happiness.

The UN rents each year a limousine for the President of the General Assembly during its three months session, because it is cheaper than to buy one. And each year this "outrageous" expenditure is criticized by the US media. But I have never seen a single article about the fleets of luxury cars Used by the generals and officers of that country and of this planet.

I would like to see the creation, the flourishing of international schools in all big cities of the world. The creation of the International School in Amsterdam is an enlightening example. A lady schoolteacher, Mrs. Margaret Armstrong-Law thought a few years ago that such a school reflecting the World Core Curriculum was utterly needed. Why? Because more and more international foreign businesses established offices in Amsterdam. Many of their people, brought from the home offices, would not find an adequate school for their children because of the differences of their languages with the Dutch language. An international school would therefore be a blessing and a success. She was right. The school she created made a fortune and was later accommodated in a new, bigger building, almost a palace built according to the designs of the World Core Curriculum. I was invited to its inauguration.

The list of people and businesses which helped finance the new building is revealing. Hence this idea: in every capital and big business city in the world the same help would be forthcoming by creating an international school, adopting the World Core Curriculum as a general framework for their education.

My mother, the milliner, had many materials which she endlessly rearranged into different, beautiful hats for the joy of her customers.

I have at my disposal many materials given to me by the UN. I rearrange them endlessly into different, beautiful achievements for the benefit of humanity and of the Earth.

As a child, I often looked out of my window at the stars and the moon, and I prayed to God:

Oh God, let me be on top of the world.

He fulfilled my dream. During all my adult life I was at the UN, on top of the world.

Ask yourself, what was your dream as a child, your dearest, deepest dream, the one you had when you looked at the stars and the moon and spoke to God?

What a pity that at this beginning of a new millennium after millions of years humanity has not yet found the right, wonderful way of living happily with planet Earth and has still on it devilish armaments and militaries ready to eventually kill. It is very hard to understand. How can we still consider ourselves to be an intelligent species, the most intelligent of all? This no longer makes any sense.

There are so many other loving ways to live on this planet, this wonderful, perhaps unique paradise endowed with incredible life forms in the universe.

At the beginning of the 21st century the even more advanced concept and objective of Paradise Earth was born. Bravo. Let us all support and contribute to it.

Dr Robert MullerAt the close of the Second World War, on the night of the liberation of Lyon, Robert Muller stood in a fallow field weeping for all the young people whose lives were squandered during the battles he fought in the French Resistance. That night Muller swore he would devote his life to peace. After the guns fell silent and the fields again were fertile, Muller could not settle for one more hopeful interlude of peace and prosperity between wars. He was determined to create a permanent end to all the wars and bloodshed, but then he began to catch glimpses of something even greater. He saw the architectural details of a world quite unlike the old Europe: a united, harmonious world where people could enjoy their lives together and be fulfilled. Muller left everything behind and joined the United Nations in its third year to follow his dream. Come experience the wisdom and inspiration of a man who never gave up on us, and our capacity to create peace.

Robert Muller tells us. "Human history so far has been the history of a primitive race. Only now, with planet-wide knowledge and consciousness, have we entered the real challenge to our species: the good management of our earth. The real history of the world is only beginning." This international diplomat, prophet, economist, spiritual leader, legally-trained politician, dreamer, realist, pragmatist and radical idealist is here to challenge us: "We must grow a global brain, a global heart and a global soul. That is our most-pressing current evolutionary task." Rev. David has shared Robert's experiences of overcoming Nazi imprisonment and other personal challenges with us in services. Armaments aid should also be published in yearly reports to the United Nations.

PEOPLES PARLIAMENT TO BE DISCUSSED AT THE UN/NGO CONFERENCE
After three decades of dedicated work a significant breakthrough has been achieved at the United Nations. For the first time the concept of a Peoples Parliament within the UN system, under UN Charter Articles 22 or 7.2, will be included in the annual UN/NGO Conference. The conference is from September 6-8 at the UN Headquarters in New York. The session on a Peoples Parliament will be held on September 8 from 12:30 pm to 2:30 pm. in the UN Correspondents Club on the 3rd floor.
A People's Parliament, as a companion to the General Assembly, would facilitate the creation of effective partnerships to work for human security and sustainable development and add an effective moral voice to deliberations at the UN on the critical global issues.

Lady Rhyl Jansen, President, WFUNA, New Zealand
Harry Lerner, President, CCC/UN
Benjamin Quinto, director of the Global Youth Action Network

?I listened to the harmonica pieces ?Ode to Joy? and the French love song this morning and while meditating I was struck with the fact that I was actually connecting with Robert?s spirit (breath), since the music played on the harmonica is produced by one?s breath.

What a wonderful spiritual connection!

Since the time when the US government managed to get the UN Center of Multinational Corporations suppressed upon the election of Mr. Boutros-Ghali as Secretary General in 1992 the role of their corporations in the world has increased immensely. I recommend therefore the urgent creation of a full United Nations Agency on Multinational Corporations.

The UN's World Servants Pope John Paul II said to UN officials during his historic visit to the United Nations in 1979:

temples in Asia, of the cathedrals in Europe were not only the architects who laid out the designs, or those who provided fmancing,

but also, and in no small way, the carvers of the stones, many of whom never had the satisfaction of contemplating in its entirety the beauty of the masterpiece that their hands helped create, And yet, they were producing a work of art that would be the object of admiration for generations to come.
