Art is thought. Art is imagination. Art is feeling. Art is action. Art is the highest expression of life, of being. Art and life must be one. * Art encapsulates life. It makes our lives and dreams durable. * | My Testament to the UN -A Contribution to the 50th Anniversary of the United Nations, 1995, Chapter 6 | Comment of a UN journalist: "The situation is excellent for UN correspondents, because the international situation is getting worse." Comment of a UN correspondent: "Mr. Muller, we have it so good these days: there is Afghanistan, the war between Iran and Iraq, and lots of other troubles. I fear the moment when all this is settled. What will we do? Our bosses are likely to close our offices." *Re: [GMW #821] A Code of Ethics and Shared Responsibilities | | From Vicky Rossi, Re: [GMW #821] A Code of Ethics and Shared Responsibilities With regard the International Council of Human Duties, according to my research it does not seem to be particularly active right now. However, there are other Declarations of Human Duties. One in particular is very comprehensive. It was created by the Valencia Third Millennium Foundation under the auspices of UNESCO and it can be found at the University of Ottawa site http://www.cdp-hrc.uottawa.ca/publicat/valencia/valenc23.html There is also a Declaration of Human Responsibilities by the Interaction Council to be found at http://www.interactioncouncil.org/. I would also categorise the Earth Charter as a Declaration of Human Duties and Responsibilities even if it does not bear that name. The Earth Charter +5 conference was held in Amsterdam 7-9 November. Having attended the event, I feel uplifted by the way the ethical principals of the Charter are being implemented by people all over the world. Good Morning World subscribers might be interested in visiting www.earthcharter.org to see reports from that +5 event.
