| | | [GMW #959] Proper Earth Government With Registry For Accidents and Their Prevention | Wednesday 31 May 2006, Editor: Easy | RobertMuller.org | Contact | Subscribe | Unsubscribe | | GMW Blogs: English | Portuguese I Spanish | Tagalog | Dutch | | Ending War | ~ Idea 816 ~ 3 October 1996 Many years ago in the 1960's, at the UN I assembled statistics on how many people were killed in current wars at that time, including Vietnam, and people killed in automobile accidents. The figure of the latter was more than twice the number of the first. And yet people have more outcries against wars than accidents. In a proper Earth Government or World Union there should be a Registry for Accidents and their Prevention. It would keep world-wide statistics on all accidents, study their main causes, publish them and ask the public for their help in prevention and reduction. It would not only save many lives and handicaps but also huge resources to social and health insurance systems. A great role can be played by the media in such an effort. * Daily Idea Dream Topics: Peace, Idea Dreams 6001-6500, Ending War, Planet Of Hope, Religion & Spirituality |
| Robert's Golden Sayings | The Earth is more likely to stop rotating than humanity stop progressing. * | My Testament to the UN -A Contribution to the 50th Anniversary of the United Nations, 1995, Chapter 9 | As far as the nature of the Secretary General's personality is concerned, I feel that he or she should be the kind of man or woman who looks to the future, a futurist, and has a global conception of problems. I do not believe in the importance of regional considerations in the choice of a Secretary General. I do not believe that only an Asian or an African or a Latin American or a European should be the next Secretary General. What I believe in are the qualities of the head as. well as of the heart, like moral integrity, competence, and the ability to- project into the future, to act within the framework of a global unit, and a genuine desire to see this organization develop into a really effective instrument for peace, justice, and progress." - U Thant Healing Therapeutic Garden For Elders and Wellness Day May 2006 by Kathy Ward - President of WEL, World Elder Land A Meaningful, Inclusive and FUN Program with Elders and For Elders Nurturing Communities of Interes in Their Communities of Place For A Better Quality of Life For Elders (The healing therapeutic gardens for elders are specially designed to their cognitive, sensory and motor coordination needs.) Designing and implementing the PEACE CORNER in as many communities as possible for a better world. Every participant received some items to start their own PEACE CORNER. A copy of the book "Most Of All They Thought Me Happiness" by Robert Muller, a PEACE CORNER plaque and a letter signed by Barbara Muller explaining how the first PEACE CORNER was originated and inspired by her. The message of the PEACE CORNER is for everyone to focus on better ways to procure and nurture PEACE in their lives. Knowing that PEACE is a personal experience and a process that matures with time. The practice of harmony and opportunities to love people and nature, opportunities to give and share love with others and ourselves. We are facilitating a healing place for contemplation, inspiration and renewal of the body, mind and spirit. This will be a garden, full of life, to help everyone to stay healthy. A place for our elders to go outside of the confine of the physical building to be with plants, flowers, birds, a fountain, natural light, clean and fresh air, the blue sky, rabbits, rocks, doves and other animals. The garden is an invitation to explore, imagine, create, contemplate, socialize and connect with the spiritual self. This healing and therapeutic garden incorporates horticultural therapy into the program by combining and facilitating informal aspects of occupational and physical therapy. Along with creativity and social integration, the garden aids our elders and caregivers in the betterment of their well-being. Whether the elders are actually gardening (watering, weeding, and working in the herbal garden) orusing the garden as a space to try walking, group chair exercises, creative writing or simply visiting with friends or caregivers. A healing therapeutic garden also provides sensory stimulation, motor coordination, social integration and better connection with nature, a good source of 'life energy' or (chi). This program was facilitated by Better World Community Adventures.
