| | | [GMW #967] Study Ecology First Then Economics or Study Them Together | Monday 12 June 2006, Editor: Easy | RobertMuller.org | Contact | Subscribe | Unsubscribe | | GMW Blogs: English | Portuguese I Spanish | Tagalog | Dutch | | Idea Dream | ~ Idea 6220 ~ I wrote to my daughter Gisele, who is an ocean biologist: “Symbiosis means a common life form or relationship. Humanity is certainly not in symbiosis with the Earth. It is an antibiotic or decadent Earth destructive, eco, oikos destructive, biosis. Signed Dad Note: Ecology, the knowledge, science of the oikos, home. Economy (nomos) the ruling, the administration of the oikos, home. Cosmology, the science of the cosmos. There is also the beginning of human cosmonomy in outer space. Note: the trouble of humanity was to give priority to economy (the management of our home, the ruling of it over ecology (oikos logos the knowledge of your home). This is the origin of a lot of our problems today. This is also why I recommend that no student should be allowed to study economics before having studied ecology or he should study the two disciplines together. * Daily Idea Dream Topics: Peace, Idea Dreams 1 - 6999, Ending War, Planet Of Hope, Religion & Spirituality |
| Robert's Golden Sayings | We must train many people with world views and world abilities, because there are so many world issues to solve and so many wonderful new professions devoted to them. * | My Testament to the UN -A Contribution to the 50th Anniversary of the United Nations, 1995, Chapter 5 | Global problems are so pressing and so mounting, and global cooperation and agencies are so pathetically underfinanced that it has become imperative in the interest of human survival and of our planet to hold a world conference on the financing of global cooperation. * | | From Barbara: Hello dear Good Morning World, An Inconvenient Truth is the most important movie for the future of our grand children and our Planet Earth. It came to Santa Barbara on Friday and Robert and I went to see it and request everyone of our Good Morning World Readers see it. Robert was shaken and so was I. We applaud Al Gore who has taken six years to perfect the scientific truth about the path humanity is taking on our precious planet. If the vast majority of the world's scientists are right, we have just ten years to avert a major catastrophe that could send our entire planet into a tail-spin of epic destruction involving extreme weather, floods, droughts, epidemics and killer heat waves beyond anything we have ever experienced. Here's what the critics are saying about the movie: "One of the most important films ever. If this does not move you to change, nothing will." • Larry King, CNN "Made me want to buy a hybrid and shoot my old car, so no one else could drive it... Amazing and smartly done film." • Bob Mondello, NPR "This is activist cinema at its very best, for it serves to popularize and demythologize a problem long obscured by those most threatened by the solution. With humor and searing intelligence, Gore outlines crucial steps we must take to avert impending disaster and proves that inaction is no longer an option-in fact, it's immoral." • Sundance Film Festival "Not to be missed. It doesn't matter whether you're a Republican or Democrat, liberal or conservative... your mind will be changed in a nanosecond." • Roger Friedman, Fox News http://freepage.twoday.net/stories/2124100/ It's up to us to change the course. Start by seeing the movie, Barbara Muller
