Living in nature, a most wonderful one in Costa Rica, one is reabsorbed by nature. I feel myself to be a child again, an integral part of Mother Earth. I see Father God in the heavens and Mother Nature all around me on Earth. I feel like an incredible child of both.

The participation of the UN staff in the commemoration of the fortieth anniversary of the UN took three forms:
Recognition: All staff members with more than thirty years of service received scrolls signed and handed by the Secretary-General in a general meeting of the staff in the Assembly Hall;
Rededication: All staff members were asked to renew solemnly their oath of office;
Reflection: The staff organized discussion groups and seminars on the UN's objectives, work and idealism.
