One question future generations of humans are likely to ask is: how many species did humans at the turn of the millennium destroy or let perish? In The Absolute Need for Proper Earth Government I mention that we let one species perish every five hours, but I could not find a total of the species’ already destroyed in the past. I do not know if the figure exists somewhere. All I could do was to calculate that at the rate of a species destroyed every five hours, we would lose 84,000 species in the next fifty years.
