God, the Devil and the Americans
God:
"I have created you Americans to give freedom to the world. This is why you have a Statue of Liberty on which you say, 'In God We Trust'."
The Devil:
"My foot! Try to get an average American to express his/her views in newspapers or radio or on television. They give the views only to those who pay or speak in their interests. An example: a group of US citizens and organizations wanted the New York Times to publish a page defending the United Nations. The Times asked for $30,000, which they could not pay, but the New York Times has the freedom to publish anti-UN articles whenever they want. As the Devil I am happy because I hate the UN which is a very dangerous competition to my objectives and schemes."

-A Contribution to the 50th Anniversary of the United Nations, 1995, Chapter 10 | Today news, messages, books, films, ideas, poems, as well as an exemplary life can reach the whole world. How sad however, that what reaches the world through the media is predominantly:
- bad news;
- negative, pessimistic information;
_ sensational, prefabricated "best -sellers";
- horror, violence and war films;
- negative, hostile ideas;
- seldom any poems;
- seldom an exemplary life;
This applies to the coverage of the United Nations too. The human will for life must be iron-strong to withstand such beatings. It is a true miracle that the human society has not yet crumbled at the hands of the media. But how long will it resist?
It is most urgent that the best minds of this planet tackle this problem which stands monumentally in the way of a better world.
