| | | [GMW #676A] Decide To Forgive - A Most Beautiful Form Of Love | Friday 29 April 2005, Editor: Easy Subscribe | Unsubscribe | Contact | Earth's Ecology | ~ Idea 700 ~9 June 1996 I applaud the plan of the Forgiveness Institute in Lawrence, Kansas, to hold the First World Congress of Forgiveness in Jerusalem in the year 2000. Here is my contribution to it: Decide to Forgive For resentment is negative Resentment is poisonous Resentment diminishes and devours the self. Be the first to forgive, to smile and to take the first step. And you will see happiness bloom On the face of your human brother or sister, Be always the first Do not wait for others to forgive For by forgiving You become the master of fate The fashioner of life The doer of miracles. To forgive is the highest, most beautiful form of love. In return you will receive untold peace and happiness. - Robert Muller It would be good if the year 2000 could be proclaimed World Year of Forgiveness and Atonement by the UN and that still unreconciled, conflicting countries, religions, institutions and peoples could forgive each other and start the new millennium on a new basis.

I hope that humans will succeed, that they will not destroy themselves, that they will administer well this living body as the true miracle it is and make it even a greater miracle. * Given the constant beating we are giving to our body, nerves, heart, mind and spirit, it appears that a human being is the incarnation of a tremendous, renewable cosmic force: the will for life. The cosmos must be trying to achieve something very special through the human race. Our responsibilities may reach far beyond anything we have ever dreamt heretofore and which was understood only by the great religious seers and prophets * | My Testament to the UN -A Contribution to the 50th Anniversary of the United Nations, 1995, Chapter 5 | To the criticism that UN officials are overpaid, my wife always asked me to have the critics call her and she would tell them how long it took her until she could afford a dishwashing machine. As a matter of fact, the salaries are so unattractive for certain countries that they pay extra subsidies to their nationals to make it worthwhile to expatriate themselves and work in the high-cost cities of the UN and of its specialized agencies. The US pays their nationals salary differentials when they return home * | | From: Connie Day Heart Smart http://www.heartmath.org/research/science-of-the-heart/soh_20.html
Did you know there's more information coming from the heart to the brain than the other way around? And guess where most of this information comes from? (Hint: We're HeartMath not 'Kidney' math.) The heart sends important information to the brain four different ways: NEUROLOGICALLY. With every beat of the heart, a burst of neural activity is relayed to the brain. The brain in the heart senses hormonal, rate and pressure information, and translates this information into neurological impulses, processes it and sends information back to the brain in the head via the vagus nerve and nerves in the spinal column. BIOCHEMICALLY. The heart produces the 'balance hormone' - ANF. It regulates blood pressure, body-fluid retention and electrolyte homeostasis and exerts its effects widely on the blood vessels, kidneys, adrenal glands and other regulatory regions of the brain. ANF also inhibits release of stress hormones and plays a positive role in reproductive and immune system activity. BIOPHYSICALLY. With every beat the heart generates a powerful blood pressure wave that travels rapidly throughout the arteries, much faster than the actual flow of blood. These waves of pressure create what we feel as our pulse. ENERGETICALLY. The heart produces an electromagnetic field that is approximately five thousand times greater in strength than the field produced by the brain. Its power influences every part of our bodies and even broadcasts itself outside the body. The net of all this is to remind you that the heart affects the rest of the body - we don't have a choice. What we feel affects the heart. In this we do have a choice. By intentionally shifting to a positive emotional state with HeartMath's heart- focused techniques we can modify input from the heart to the brain in ways that are good for us. Make sure you spend some time in your heart by applying your HeartMath® tools as often as you can - it's healthy, it's smart....
