| | | [GMW #1147] Moving UN Seat To Costa Rica From New York To Be More In Touch With Nature | Monday 12 February 2007, Editor: Easy | RobertMuller.org | Contact | Subscribe | Unsubscribe | | GMW Blogs: English | Portuguese | Spanish | Tagalog | Dutch | | Idea Dream - Paradise Earth - Celebrating Robert's 84th Birthday 10 March | New York City was selected as the seat of the United Nations after World War II at a time when humanity was concerned only with human problems. The UN Charter does not contain the words Earth, nature, resources, or environment. Now that the Earth and nature are the highest priority, it would be appropriate to move the world organization to a site of preserved natural beauty. The vast campus of the University for Peace is located in a demilitarized country where visitors experience peace directly from nature in thousands of acres of primeval tropical forest. The cost to the Secretariat and all the delegations would be less than half of New York City. This would fulfill the prophecy of Rasur, indigenous god of children, who said that a civilization of peace will spread from the hills of Costa Rica to the entire world. Starting 7 March Good Morning World is featuring one paragraph each day from Robert's 23 paragraph 2 page monograph Paradise Earth edited by Douglas Gillies, Robert's biographer. Paradise Earth is compiled from Robert's first 6,000 Ideas and Dreams for a Better World. The 23 pararaphs will lead to Douglas's teleseminar with Robert on Saturday March 10 at 9:00 am Pacific Time. Douglas will ask Robert questions from you and the listeners about his vision for Paradise Earth. This will hopefully be followed by a series of teleseminars on Paradise Earth with Robert and one special guest each time. | Robert's The Miracle, Joy and Art of Living | I am surrounded in my office by busts of famous peacemakers: Jesus, Gandhi, Schweitzer, Dag Hammarskjöld, U Thant, Saint Francis. Why? Because I want them to inspire me. If I were surrounded by busts of Nero, Gengis Khan, Napoleon, Stalin and Hitler, I would be a different person. Similarly, in Peace Park of the UN University for Peace in Costa Rica, students and professors are surrounded by busts, statues and images of the world's greatest peacemakers to continue their work and keep their dreams alive. * | My Testament to the UN -A Contribution to the 50th Anniversary of the United Nations, 1995, Chapter 10 | Costa Rica, IO June 1992 I received today a cable inviting me to participate in a meeting at the UN in New York on 30 June to prepare the fiftieth, golden, anniversary of the UN! Thank you, Oh World, for still using me as your servant. Thank you, Oh God, for fulfilling yet another dream. • THE END? (of course not) * | |
